The Runway is 375 feet long and 50 feet wide. The grass is kept cut short, and is seeded with Bermuda grass in the Spring and Winter rye in the Fall. This provides a nice surface to fly from all year round. There are 4 pilot stations with each standing 25 feet apart. Each Pilot station is covered with a small roof to provide shade from the hot days that Florida is known for. There is a 3 foot fence in front of the pilot stands to protect the pilots from stray airplanes that may be taking off or landing. The pit area features 6 folding tables and 5 starting stands. The spectator area features two 36 feet shade areas that are separated by the frequency control/transmitter impound. Each shade area contains several picnic tables and chairs for relaxing and staying out of the hot Florida sun.
The HeliPad is approximately 100 feet in diameter and is large enough for 2 Helicopters to fly at the same time. The grass is kept cut short, and is seeded with Bermuda grass in the Spring and Winter rye in the Fall. The Pit area for the Helipad features 4 Folding tables, and a 10 x 20 feet shade area which contains one picnic table. The helipad is separated from the pit area by a 3 feet fence.
Both the runway pit area and helipad are equipped with an irrigation system to keep the grass green during the dry times of the year.
The current flying site has been graciously provided by the Parks & Recreation Department of Osceola County, Florida.
